Template pipeline is now the default template compiler.
A pair of source map tests is failing, related to DI in JIT mode; I will fix and re-enable these during the preview period.
PR Close#54571
The linker compliance tests were disabled with a Babel update and
nobody realized for quite a while, via
https://github.com/angular/angular/pull/49914.
As we've came across this lost coverage, which also is quite
impactful as all libraries depend on linked output- I've took initiative
to debug the root cause as there was no follow-up.
https://github.com/angular/angular/issues/51647.
It turned out to be a highly complex issue that is non-trivial to fix,
but at least we should try to resurrect the significant portion of test
coverage by still running the linker tests- avoiding regressions, or
unexpected issues (like with defer being developed). We can work on
re-enabling and fixing source-maps separately.
Tracked via https://github.com/angular/angular/issues/51647.
PR Close#53571
Currently internally Angular has some customized tsconfig files, because we don't align with the tsconfig of the rest of g3. These changes enable `noImplicitReturns` and `noPropertyAccessFromIndexSignature` to align better with the internal config.

In some cases it is not feasible to have the template pipeline produce
the exact same compiled output as the TemplateDefinitionBuilder. This
commit adds support to the testing infrastructure to have different
expected output files for each. This option should be used sparingly, as
we want the output to be as close as possible.
PR Close#51100
The option 'local compile' is added for the test cases, and the locally compiled file for an input `abc.ts` is compared by default with the file `abc.local.js`. This allows to use the same input `abc.ts` for both full compilation (compared with `abc.js`) and local compilation (compared with `abc.local.js`). An example is provided in the next commit when compliance tests are added for the NgModule local compilation.

PR Close#50582
Previously one could set a flag in a `TEST_CASES.json` file to exclude
the test-cases from being run if the input files were being compiled
partially and then linked.
There are also scenarios where one might want to exclude test-cases
from "full compile" mode test runs.
This commit changes the compliance test tooling to support a new
property `compilationModeFilter`, which is an array containing one or
more of `"full compile"` and `"linked compile"`. Only the tests
whose `compilationModeFilter` array contains the current compilation
mode will be run.

If the testcase has not specified that errors were expected, then any
errors that have occurred should be reported. These errors may have
prevented an output file from being generated, which resulted in hard
to debug test failures due to missing files.
PR Close#39862
This commit provides the machinery for the new file-based compliance test
approach for i18n tests, and migrates the i18n tests to this new format.
PR Close#39661
This commit contains the basic runner logic and a couple of sample test cases
for the "full compile" compliance tests, where source files are compiled
to full definitions and checked against expectations.
