4e9244990a fix(compiler-cli): more accurate diagnostics for host binding parser errors (#58870)
Currently host bindings are in a bit of a weird state, because their source spans all point to the root object literal, rather than the individual expression. This is tricky to handle at the moment, because the object is being passed around as a `Record<string, string>` since the compiler needs to support both JIT and non-JIT environments, and because the AOT compiler evaluates the entire literal rather than doing it expression-by-expression. As a result, when we report errors in one of the host bindings, we end up highlighting the entire expression which can be very noisy in an IDE.

These changes aim to report a more accurate error for the most common case where the `host` object is initialized to a `string -> string` object literal by matching the failing expression to one of the property initializers. Note that this isn't 100% reliable, because we can't map cases like `host: SOME_CONST`, but it's still better than the current setup.

8d90c1ad97 refactor(compiler): store the fullStart location on ParseSourceSpans (#39486)
The lexer is able to skip leading trivia in the `start` location of tokens.
This makes the source-span more friendly since things like elements
appear to begin at the start of the opening tag, rather than at the
start of any leading whitespace, which could include newlines.

But some tooling requires the full source-span to be available, such
as when tokenizing a text span into an Angular expression.

This commit simply adds the `fullStart` location to the `ParseSourceSpan`
class, and ensures that places where such spans are cloned, this
property flows through too.

f65db20c6d feat(ivy): record absolute position of template expressions (#31391)
Currently, template expressions and statements have their location
recorded relative to the HTML element they are in, with no handle to
absolute location in a source file except for a line/column location.
However, the line/column location is also not entirely accurate, as it
points an entire semantic expression, and not necessarily the start of
an expression recorded by the expression parser.

To support record of the source code expressions originate from, add a
new `sourceSpan` field to `ASTWithSource` that records the absolute byte
offset of an expression within a source code.

stability](https://hackmd.io/@X3ECPVy-RCuVfba-pnvIpw/BkDUxaW84/%2FMA1oxh6jRXqSmZBcLfYdyw?type=book).

76cedb8bf3 fix(ivy): verify Host Bindings and Host Listeners before compiling them (#28356)
Prior to this change we may encounter some errors (like pipes being used where they should not be used) while compiling Host Bindings and Listeners. With this update we move validation logic to the analyze phase and throw an error if something is wrong. This also aligns error messages between Ivy and VE.

64d16dee02 feat(compiler): implement "enableIvy" compiler option (#21427)
The "enableIvy" compiler option is the initial implementation

but not much else. It is currenly only useful for internal Ivy
testing as Ivy is in development.

cdc882bd36 feat: introduce source maps for templates (#15011)
The main use case for the generated source maps is to give
errors a meaningful context in terms of the original source
that the user wrote.

Related changes that are included in this commit:

* renamed virtual folders used for jit:
  * ng://<module type>/module.ngfactory.js
  * ng://<module type>/<comp type>.ngfactory.js
  * ng://<module type>/<comp type>.html (for inline templates)
* error logging:
  * all errors that happen in templates are logged
    from the place of the nearest element.
  * instead of logging error messages and stacks separately,
    we log the actual error. This is needed so that browsers apply
    source maps to the stack correctly.
  * error type and error is logged as one log entry.

Note that long-stack-trace zone has a bug that
disables source maps for stack traces,
see https://github.com/angular/zone.js/issues/661.

- DebugNode.source no more returns the source location of a node.
