5d9cc8f408 refactor(core): remove the standalone feature (#58288)
By removing the standalone feature, we reduce the amount of code generated for components but at the cost of including the `StandaloneService` in the main bundle even if no standalone components are included in it.

0654c05c41 fix(core): properly move embedded views of dynamic component's projectable nodes (#37167)
This commit fixes the issue of the ASSERTION ERROR issue when
a projected node(RNode) inside an array is checked against the types
of TNodeType.Element, TNodeType.Container, TNodeType.ElementContainer,
TNodeType.IcuContainer, TNodeType.Projection. As it's inside an array,
it doesn't fall into any of those types, as a result, it throws
the ASSERTION ERROR.

ca11ef2376 fix(core): Store ICU state in LView rather than in TView (#39233)
Before this refactoring/fix the ICU would store the current selected
index in `TView`. This is incorrect, since if ICU is in `ngFor` it will
cause issues in some circumstances. This refactoring properly moves the
state to `LView`.

eb32b6bd6b refactor(core): Remove reliance on TNodeType.View. (#38707)
`TNodeType.View` was created to support inline views. That feature did
not materialize and we have since removed the instructions for it, leave
 an unneeded `TNodeType.View` which was still used in a very
 inconsistent way. This change no longer created `TNodeType.View` (and
 there will be a follow up chang to completely remove it.)

Also simplified the mental model so that `LView[HOST]`/`LView[T_HOST]`
always point to the insertion location of the `LView`.

812615bb99 refactor(core): Ensure that previousOrParentTNode always belongs to current TView. (#38707)
`previousOrParentTNode` stores current `TNode`. Due to inconsistent
implementation the value stored would sometimes belong to the current
`TView` and sometimes to the parent. We have extra logic which accounts
for it. A better solution is to just ensure that `previousOrParentTNode`
always belongs to current `TNode`. This simplifies the mental model
and cleans up some code.

f5c7e883a9 refactor(core): Take advantage of 'assert functions' for ngDevMode asserts (#35964)
As of TypeScript 3.7, TypeScript supports [Assert Functions](https://www.typescriptlang.org/docs/handbook/release-notes/typescript-3-7.html#assertion-functions). This change adds assert types to our `assert*` functions.

We can't fully take advantage of this due to [Assert functions do not constraint type when they are guarded by a truthy expression.](https://github.com/microsoft/TypeScript/issues/37295)

5aabe93abe refactor(ivy): Switch styling to new reconcile algorithm (#34616)
NOTE: This change must be reverted with previous deletes so that it code remains in build-able state.

This change deletes old styling code and replaces it with a simplified styling algorithm.

The mental model for the new algorithm is:
- Create a linked list of styling bindings in the order of priority. All styling bindings ere executed in compiled order and than a linked list of bindings is created in priority order.
- Flush the style bindings at the end of `advance()` instruction. This implies that there are two flush events. One at the end of template `advance` instruction in the template. Second one at the end of `hostBindings` `advance` instruction when processing host bindings (if any).
- Each binding instructions effectively updates the string to represent the string at that location. Because most of the bindings are additive, this is a cheap strategy in most cases. In rare cases the strategy requires removing tokens from the styling up to this point. (We expect that to be rare case)S Because, the bindings are presorted in the order of priority, it is safe to resume the processing of the concatenated string from the last change binding.

1a0ee18d62 fix(ivy): run pre-order hooks in injection order (#34026)
This commit fixes a compatibility bug where pre-order lifecycle
hooks (onInit, doCheck, OnChanges) for directives on the same
host node were executed based on the order the directives were
matched, rather than the order the directives were instantiated
(i.e. injection order).

This discrepancy can cause issues with forms, where it is common
to inject NgControl and try to extract its control property in
ngOnInit. As the NgControl directive is injected, it should be
instantiated before the control value accessor directive (and
thus its hooks should run first). This ensures that the NgControl
ngOnInit can set up the form control before the ngOnInit
for the control value accessor tries to access it.

fc93dafab1 refactor(core): rename ngModuleDef to ɵmod (#33142)
Module defs are not considered public API, so the property
that contains them should be prefixed with Angular's marker
for "private" ('ɵ') to discourage apps from relying on def
APIs directly.

This commit adds the prefix and shortens the name from
ngModuleDef to mod. This is because property names
cannot be minified by Uglify without turning on property
mangling (which most apps have turned off) and are thus
size-sensitive.

64fd0d6db9 refactor(core): rename ngComponentDef to ɵcmp (#33088)
Component defs are not considered public API, so the property
that contains them should be prefixed with Angular's marker
for "private" ('ɵ') to discourage apps from relying on def
APIs directly.

This commit adds the prefix and shortens the name from
`ngComponentDef` to `cmp`. This is because property names
cannot be minified by Uglify without turning on property
mangling (which most apps have turned off) and are thus
size-sensitive.

Note that the other "defs" (ngDirectiveDef, etc) will be
prefixed and shortened in follow-up PRs, in an attempt to
limit how large and conflict-y this change is.

39e426cde3 fix(ivy): TestBed.get(Compiler) throws "Error: Runtime compiler is not loaded" (#27223)
BREAKING CHANGE:

The public API for `DebugNode` was accidentally too broad. This change removes
1. Public constructor. Since `DebugNode` is a way for Angular to communicate information
   on to the developer there is no reason why the developer should ever need to
   Instantiate the `DebugNode`
2. We are also removing `removeChild`, `addChild`, `insertBefore`, and `insertChildAfter`.
   All of these methods are used by Angular to constructor the correct `DebugNode` tree.
   There is no reason why the developer should ever be constructing a `DebugNode` tree
   And these methods should have never been made public.
3. All properties have been change to `readonly` since `DebugNode` is used by Angular
   to communicate to developer and there is no reason why these APIs should be writable.

While technically breaking change we don’t expect anyone to be effected by this change.

503905c807 feat(ivy): add ngcc ivy switch (#25238)
Provides a runtime and compile time switch for ivy including
`ApplicationRef.bootstrapModule`.

This is done by naming the symbols such that `ngcc` (angular
Compatibility compiler) can rename symbols in such a way that running
`ngcc` command will switch the `@angular/core` module from `legacy` to
`ivy` mode.

This is done as follows:

```
const someToken__PRE_NGCC__ = ‘legacy mode’;
const someToken__POST_NGCC__ = ‘ivy mode’;
export someSymbol = someToken__PRE_NGCC__;
```

The `ngcc` will search for any token which ends with `__PRE_NGCC__`
and replace it with `__POST_NGCC__`. This allows the `@angular/core`
package to be rewritten to ivy mode post `ngcc` execution.
