04ca3bcf10 ci: move local and saucelabs unit tests to circle (#27937)
Moving the tests over to CircleCI in pretty much "as-is" state just so that we can drop the dependency on Travis.

In the followup changes we plan to migrate these tests to run on sauce under bazel. @gregmagolan is working on that.

I've previously verified that all the tests executed in legacy-unit-tests-local already under bazel.
Therefore the legacy-unit-tests-local job is strictly not necessary any more, but given how flaky legacy-unit-tests-saucelabs is,
it is good to have the -local job just so that we can quickly determine if any failure is a flake or legit issue
(the bazel version of these tests could theoretically run in a slightly different way and fail or not fail in a different way, so having -lcoal job is just an extra safety check).

This change was coauthored with @devversion

c6ae72987b build: re-enable saucelabs non-verbose logging (#27657)
Previously the logging to TravisCI has been disabled because the `print-logs.sh` file printed the Sauce-Connect logfile output that is `verbose` by default. See [for example](https://travis-ci.org/angular/angular/jobs/250578973).

Since the default stdout/stderr of sauce-connect is pretty much concise and can alert us if we run into any issues (e.g. rate limit, outdated tunnel version), we should stop piping these to `/dev/null`.

026b7e34b3 build: update yarn version (#27193)
Some engineers were already on Yarn 0.10.x which was permitted by the range in our package.json#engines
However this introduced 'integrity sha512' lines into the yarn.lock files.
Then when engineers use yarn 0.9 (in particular, Bazel did this) then the lock files get tons of meaningless edits.
We could force everyone back to yarn 0.9 but this commit chooses to instead advance everyone past 0.10

2a7210e382 build: release scripts should use bazel from yarn (#26899)
* With ec29fd3e7b, the prefix for the `bazel` command has been removed because it threw off the Bash variables. In order to fix this while still running Bazel from the `node_modules` (keeping the bazel versions consistent), we should run Bazel without Yarn (similar to how it's done for `build-packages-dist.sh`)

* No longer depends on a custom CircleCI docker image that comes with Bazel pre-installed. Since Bazel is now available through NPM, we should be able to use the version from `@bazel/bazel` in order to enforce a consistent environment on CI and locally.
* This also reduces the amount of packages that need to be published (ngcontainer is removed)

5e2ce9b2a6 build: clean up *.gz files created by payload-size.sh (#26746)
These files are not needed once the size has been calculated and there
is no point in keeping them around.

Deleting them prevents, for example, uploading unnecessary files from
`aio/dist/` to Firebase (because `deploy-to-firebase.sh` runs the
payload size checks right before deploying).

4237c34c78 test(ivy): mark failing test targets with fixme-ivy-jit and fixme-ivy-local tags (#26471)
We are close enough to blacklist a few test targets, rather than whitelist targets to run...

Because bazel rules can be composed of other rules that don't inherit tags automatically,
I had to explicitly mark all of our ts_library and ng_module targes with "ivy-local" and
"ivy-jit" tags so that we can create a query that excludes all fixme- tagged targets even
if those targets are composed of other targets that don't inherit this tag.

This is the updated overview of ivy related bazel tags:

- ivy-only: target that builds or runs only under ivy
- fixme-ivy-jit: target that doesn't yet build or run under ivy with --compile=jit
- fixme-ivy-local: target that doesn't yet build or run under ivy with --compile=local
- no-ivy-jit: target that is not intended to build or run under ivy with --compile=jit
- no-ivy-local: target that is not intended to build or run under ivy with --compile=local

4c0ad5238e build(docs-infra): display github links in CLI API docs (#26515)
This commit includes the following changes:

* CLI version information is read from the CLI package from which
  we read the help files.
* CLI API pages now contain GH links
* line numbers are not shown in GH links, if the doc does not
  have a truthy `startingLine` value. This allows us to remove
  hard coded checks for `guide` pages
* content pages and CLI api docs no longer have a `startingLine`
* the hard-coded `packages` path segment has been removed from
  the templates; instead we now only use the `realProjectRelativePath`.
* the `realProjectRelativePath` has been updated accordingly for API
  and CLI API docs.

e42bd012f9 ci(docs-infra): test PR previews on CI (#25671)
The deployment of PR previews is triggered by the notification webhook
of the `aio_preview` CircleCI job (which creates and stores the build
artifacts).

This commit adds a new job (`test_aio_preview`), which waits for the
preview to be deployed (for PRs that do have a preview) and then runs
some tests against it (currently only PWA tests).

ddb792da28 build: remove unnecessary internal-angular karma reporter (#24803)
The reporter was added in 87d56acda, with the purpose of fixing
source-map paths (which was apparently needed back then). Things have
moved around a lot since then and the custom reporter doesn't seem to be
necessary any more. By removing the reporter, we have one less thing to
worry about while upgrading karma; plus we get improvements in built-in
reporters for free.

Output with the custom reporter:
```
at someMethod (packages/core/.../some-file.ts:13:37)
```

Output with the built-in reporter:
```
00c110b055 build: upgrade jasmine (and related typings) to latest version (#19904)
With these changes, the types are a little stricter now and also not
compatible with Protractor's jasmine-like syntax. So, we have to also
use `@types/jasminewd2` for e2e tests (but not for non-e2e tests).
I also had to "augment" `@types/jasminewd2`, because the latest
typings from [DefinitelyTyped][1] do not reflect the fact that the
`jasminewd2` version (v2.1.0) currently used by Protractor supports
passing a `done` callback to a spec.
b26ac1c22f ci: publish build snapshots from Bazel/CircleCI (#23512)
This uses a new script and CircleCI job called "build-packages-dist"
We move the integration tests to a new circleCI job that depends on this
one, as well as the build publishing job.
Note that every PR will have a trivial green publishing status, because
we always create this job even for PRs. We'd rather not - see
65d57a07e0 build(aio): avoid building before running the local PWA tests
When this command is run on CI, `yarn build` has already been run, so
this was unnecessarily building angular.io again (adding ~4mins to the
When this command is run locally, it is most often about testing a new
`lighthouse` version/config, so you don't need to build angular.io over
and over (and if necessary, one can always run `yarn build` manually).
7a965dc58f build(aio): add support for using the locally built Angular packages for aio
This commit allows building angular.io against the locally built Angular
packages. It adds two new npm scripts:
- `setup-local`: Same as `setup`, but overwrites the Angular packages for both
  angular.io and the examples boilerplate with the locally built ones.
- `build-local`: Same as `build`, but uses `setup-local` instead of `setup`
  under the hood, thus overwriting installed Angular packages with locally built
  ones.
10897d6473 ci(aio): compute AIO deployment mode
There are now 3 modes for deployment: next, stable, archive.
We compute which mode (and other deployment properties)
from the `TRAVIS_BRANCH` and the `STABLE_BRANCH`.
If the TRAVIS_BRANCH is master we deploy as "next".
If the `TRAVIS_BRANCH` matches the `STABLE_BRANCH` we deploy as "stable".
Otherwise if the branch has a major version lower than the stable version
and its minor version is highest of similar branches we deploy as "archive".
For "archive" deployments we compute the firebase project and deployment
url based on the major version of the `TRAVIS_BRANCH`.
As well as choosing where to deploy the build, we also use this
to select the environment file for the AIO Angular app.
This will enable the app to change its rendering and behaviour
based on its mode.
d5dc53ead8 ci(aio): avoid printing too large PWA report (and restore print-logs.sh)
There have been some issues lately with Travis jobs failing due to
`print-log.sh`. This is likely due to trying to print the Lighthouse PWA report,
which is too large.
This commit stops printing that report (since it was rarely used and is pretty
easy to acquire when needed) and restores the `print-logs.sh` script (that was
temporarily removed with dfcca66fd).
9559d3e949 feat(platform-server): support @angular/http from @angular/platform-server
This change installs HttpModule with ServerModule, and overrides bindings to
service Http requests made from the server with the 'xhr2' NPM package.
Outgoing requests are wrapped in a Zone macro-task, so they will be tracked
within the Angular zone and cause the isStable API to show 'false' until they
return. This is essential for Universal support of server-side HTTP.
d1feb478a2 build(integration): fix tests (#14371)
Previously, the `integration/` tests were failing, because `concurrently "foo"`
does not inherit the `PATH` env var ([more info][1]).
This commit fixes it, by setting the `PATH` env var explicitly:
`concurrently "PATH=$PATH foo"`.
This commit also includes some minor refactoring of the `integration/` tests scripts:
- Move build-related operations to `ci-lite/build.sh` (for consistency).
- Use `yarn run ...` instead of `npm run ...` inside package.json scripts.
- Use global `yarn` (since we are already using it for `aio/`).
- Fix some `travis_fold` statements.
dff6ee3272 ci: validate the message of each new commit as part of the CI linting
This patch adds the gulp command of `validate-commit-messages`
which will validate the range of commits messages present in the
active branch.
This check now runs on CI as part of the linting checks.
Allowed commit message types and scopes are controlled via commit-message.json file
and documented at https://github.com/angular/angular/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md#-commit-message-guidelines
This solution is based on old Vojta's code that he wrote for angular/angular.js, that was later adjusted
by @matsko in #13815.
Ideally we should switch over to something like https://www.npmjs.com/package/commitplease
as suggested in #9953 but that package currently doesn't support strict scope checking,
which is one of the primarily goal of this PR.
Note that this PR removes support for "chore" which was previously overused
by everyone on the team.
